Woman of the Year Luncheon
Held at the Junior League On May 31st

The Houston Area Council of ABWA honored 22 women who were the Women of the Year for their various chapters and networks. These ladies have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help their organizations accomplish the goals of ABWA. These ladies were honored because they have been “Taking Care of Business.”

With almost 200 people in attendance the Junior League was full of humor and honor. National ABWA President, Lina Lawson came to town to join us as did the Vice President, Vicky Marlett and Secretary/Treasurer Amy Dawson flew in from California. All helped to honor these special members. Texas Governor Perry sent special proclamations for the honorees. Monika Miura of the Galleria Networking Chapter chaired this event and everything was wonderful. Renee’ C. Miura rocked the house with the National Anthem, as well as “Nine to Five” and “Taking Care of Business” accompanied by Linda Hazelip, long time ABWA member and professional pianist, organist and choir director. How wonderful to have such talent as part of our organization!!
